filters filters filters ???

Right, on my travels through locostworld I have aquired 3 sets of air filters.

1. ITG JC20 base plates and 40mm internal \ 65mm overall height filters (new)

2. 2 x Pipercross dual sock filters (new)

3. 4 x pipercross individual sock filters (used)

So which do I use on my twin 45's on my 2.0L zetec and which do I sell on ?

I like the look of the ITG ones however their small height concerned me with regard to air flow. Although the ITG filters can breath through the front panel as well as the sides (unlike a K&N).
The Pipercross dual socks are as tall as the equivalent K&N but the push fit doesn't inspire confidence they will stay put.

and the single socks as for dual socks

or should I sell the lot and buy some shiny K&N ones ?

A couple of people are going to get a cheap set of filters. Just don't spin me one so I sell the best ones !!!!

(As if you would even consider doing that !!)

so the small height of the ITG doesn't restrict the flow compared in anyway ?

You seem to see ITG filters all day long at Hill Climb meets, they must know something. Having said that I thought they were a tad expensive and the only people who seemed to sell them was Merlin Motorsport.

Cheers

If you use foam type filters - either ITG or PiperX - then don't forget to treat them with the proper tacky filter oil. Otherwise (and probably even still then) the holes are too coarse to stop all the abrasive airborne particles.

Without the oil I don't think they do anything like enough filtering.

if you are using trumpets on the webers suspect the itg unit will not be high enough.
