Trigger wheels

No experience with said chappies and I'm about to fit one to the Zetec, do they just bolt on to the front of the crank pulley, I'm just a bit worried it might just catch the water pump pulley or do you fit a spacer or is there another way?
Also, how heavy are they normally, the one I bought off eBay seems to be made of quite thick steel and is pretty heavy.

i've got a vauxhall engine, but mine is just bolted to the pulley, no spacers or anything. can't help on your water pump though.
they need to be quite thick to make sure the sensor gets a good signal. i wouldn't worry too much about the weight. they're only small. go for a leak before you go for a drive. weight saved

If your using 1.8 or 2.0 lt flywheel why not use the original sensor and save problems ?

second that, there's no need if your using the standard flywheel

in fact you can see where the sensor goes in your own pic

the trigger wheels are normally 5 or 6mm thick, they need to be a bit thick to get a good reliable signal (also they have to be steel/iron, if you made an alloy one it wouldn't give you a signal )

if your after light weight you want a ring type one, but you need something to mount them to like this: linky (but you don't want to know how much that cost )

I used a 1.8 CVH flywheel on my Blacktop zetec so I welded a trigger wheel from the CVH onto the Zetec crank pulley.

Zetecs have a 36:1 trigger drilled into the flywheel, so only needed if you aren't using a zetec flywheel.

Hi, I fitted a 36 tooth, 1 space type trigger wheel onto my Reliant engine which came from triggerwheels.com and just bolted it on.
Choose one slightly bigger than the crank pulley and make sure it's mounted centraly, mine was turned down in a lathe slightly after fitting to make sure it was concentric with the pulley. Important as the sensor needs to run within 1mm of the trigger wheel.

In the best Colin Chapman tradition (we are from Norfolk after all), we're adding lightness, so we have a CVH flywheel (3 kgs lighter than standard) so no timing marks, hence the need for a trigger wheel

Hi,
I'm planning to use the same method of using the cvh flywheel and a trigger wheel at the front on my zetec with the type 9.

Is QH CCT133 the correct release bearing to use along with a cvh clutch to make this work? I've seen the QH CCT132 bearing mentioned before and want to make sure I have the correct one

Thanks,

Lee
