RV8 on engine stand.
Hiya,
Thinking about lifting my RV8 3.5 up onto a engine stand soon. I know some of you clever peeps have done this. Lifting I can manage, bolting it on I
am slightly dubious? Anyone?

Personally I'd take the more obvious route. With the engine down, bring the engine stand mount down to the engine, bolt it up then lift engine
& engine stand up in one hit. JD
Beware of the Goldfish in the tulip mines. The ONLY defence against them is smoking peanut butter sandwiches.

the top of the engine stand is bolted to the engine first and then the engine is lifted to connect the top of the stand to the rest of the stand.
Make sure you have the correcdt size bolts to do this ( I may still have some that I used )

I placed a large washer between the engine and the stand connectors to protec the engine gaerbox face. + the flywheel may get in the way if its still
on the engine ????? or it may not???

If I remember rightly they are mostly UNC (unified coarse) best to get a length of studding and a bunch of nuts and washers.
If you equip yourswelf with a vernier calipers and a Zeus book you will be able to identify bolt sizes and impress the staff att he local bolt and nut

Not every ones as big as you Clive!. If you have an engine crane/hoist then it's probably safer to use that rather than lifting the engine in
the stand.
