dipstick interference fit question

Does the dipstick require and sealant or grease on the interference connection to the engine block ? (Zetec engine, but sure Pinto is the same)

you mean the dipstick tube into the cast block? If so then I usually use loctite to seal and fix it in.

yes, that's the one. I have red coloured stud lock and blue coloured thread lock (I know the colour is not important). Which one do I use ?

Whichever suits you best, both will do the job. IMO

Not that it is life and death but I would use the stronger one as you don't need to take it out again, the red studlock one.
