Are the gearbox ratios from a 2.0ltr pinto type 9 box different to the gearbox ratios from a type 9 box that came from a 1.8 cvh?

And the answer to your question...no afaik. The only difference would probably be in the fianl drive ratio..ie the diff ratio.
I stand to be corrected .....

As above if the 1600 and 2 litre were the same they ain't going to change them for the 1800.

I did a fair bit of research on this when I was starting off, as far as I could find out ALL type9's had the same ratio's
1st 3.65
2nd 1.97
3rd 1.37
4th 1
(5th) 0.82
If you can keep you head, whilst all others around you are losing theirs, you are not fully aware of the situation

not all the type 9's had the same ratios, but as far as I know all the 4 cylinder petrol ones did! certainly the XR4x4 with type 9 'box
was different, closer ratios. Diesel 2.3 was different too.

Mine is a 3.92. Pressume this is the 1st gear ratio. It is on the metal tag on the back. I'm sure there are more than the two mentioned as
well.

I think you're talking crossed purposes. afaik all 4 cylinder t9's had the same ratio's. the v6 type 9 with a longer input shaft had
a longer first gear. the diesel and 4x4 and 3.92 you mention are prob the differences in the dif at the rear of the car.
