Symbols on warning lights?
On warning lights such as the brake fluid warning light, does the appropriate symbol have to be actually on the lamp or can it be immediately above it
on the dash? (so it is obvious which lamp is refers to)
I have some lovely flush mount black anodised alloy surround LED's for warning lamps and don't really wish to put stickers on them,
especially as a friend will engrave my dash around the LED's and can engrave the symbols directly into the alloy dash before it is anodised!!

I would have thought (although someone may know otherwise) that, as long as its clear what the lamp is indicating, then you should be ok.

i was wondering this too, someone failed recently on this one. i got 6 leds with no marks on the bulbs, all fitted to the dash so i dont want to
change them.

can i add another question about warning lights....?
is there any specific position they need to be in...?

No specific position, but must be visable from the normal driving position, IIRC.

I've only seen mention of the brake fluid/handbrake warning needing a symbol on the actual light. The others are all standard colours, blue/main
beam, green/indicators, red/charging and orange/oil light.

I ve just passed and the only symbol that they were interested in was the brake warning on the lamp
the cars looking good" a blind man would be pleased to see it"
''stop press'' the blind mans seen it said "it felt ok"
