Rev Limiter
Hi guys, i have no idea if i have a rev limiter, but ill assume i dont. my ignition is an h&h solutions coil and dizzy, would this have a limiter
built in?
i really have no idea what it looks like etc,
if it turns out i dont have one could someone recomend me one for a pinto please! preferably adjustable.

just keep revving it until it stops.
if it stops with a bang then no rev limiter
if it cuts out and comes back once the revs drop then its a hard limiter.
if it the advance drops to 0 for a while before it blows then it was a soft limiter.

I have an adjustable one doing nothing. It's for a V8, but if you set it to double what you want it should work.

i have an omex shift light and limiter module at home. its for coil & dizzy applications too, i was going to use it on my pinto when i was running
an aldon ignition system but never got around to fitting it.
if your interested send me a u2u
I love Pinto's, even if i did get mine from P&O!

My stadard ford setup (CVH) seems to (found out when the throttle jammed open!).. Don't really on the limiter to save the engine though as it
stops the ignition but the fuel is still there and this will wash the oil film from the bores etc etc... Good for occasional engine saving, in the
heat of the moment, or if the throttle jams!

Maybe, I'd like to know why it's "nonsense".. The above is my understanding (and that's not always 100%, after all we
are all learning or I would not bother being on the forum)..

The amount of unburnt fuel and the length of time the ignition is cut for is not enough to do significant engine damage.
Might get some backfiring.
