Front uj knocking on chassis
Help please.I have a mk indy with a pinto and sierra gearbox.Over big bumps on the road or trying to go quickly round a corner i get the most
horrendous banging noise.I have removed the inspection flap covering the propshaft and can see markings on the chassis where the front uj is hitting
it.Has anyone else had this problem and been able to rectify it,any advise very welcome thanks.

Stiffer or replace worn gearbox mounts?
Got to be the first thing to do...

My type 9 has no gearbox mount, its bolted straight to the chassis through a 5mmish thick hard rubber pad.

Burton power do them, not cheap but really stiff in comparison.
Or use a susspension bush, and make mounts from that.
