brain teaser of the locost type.
Here's one for the Locost masses..... I need/want to fit my air filter in the space shown, it has a flexi pipe attached between it and the MAF
sensor that you can see. this puts some pressure on the cone so it won't stay where I want it to on its own accord.
how do I clamp/fix it in position? it has a sturdy clamp to fix/hold the flexi onto the filter and the neck of the cone doesn't go much further
back than the clamp(2-4mm).

I'm not sure what you mean!? Its just a way of mounting the filter I need not another one
^that does look nice though but fitting it in a small chassis might be another thing.

i was meaning the solid link pipe wit a jubilee at each end!
that way it cant move the filter as its not flexible.

I vote for this one - simple designs are always the best! Mainly because they're easy to copy with a piece of scrap steel...

How about a bracket that goes between the clamp & the outside of the flexi hose so the one clamp does two jobs? The bracket could extend down
& bolt to the plate the filter is sitting on.

I've just got back from the garage having just made something similar! I used 2 L shaped bits of ally and riveted them to each side of the
clamp and it works a treat.
Glad to see my 'fix' was what people suggested Great minds and all that!

I can't use a solid link pipe as none of the ones I looked at have long enough 'legs'.
My locost solution seems to do the trick, just got to re route some oil and water lines again!

Get a bit of small thin tubing and remove the bolt that goes through the jubilee clip that clamps the hose on, replace the bolt with a much longer one
that goes through the jubilee clip, then the new tube and into the ali plate that the filter is sitting on, (the tube is acting like a big spacer) a
nut on the other side. Should be enough?
Would also put a couple of holes in the vertical L shaped bit of ali so a bit of wire or cable tie can go around the end of the filter, this would
stop it rotating on the bolt mentioned above.
Cheers
Rich
