Reliability!
What whould you consider a reliability test?
I.e never cooked in 30miles so should be good for 300?
Getting tempted with a run to Silverstone.
Its a long way!

It's quite possibly more likely that something 'unlikely' is more likely to pack up than the engine cooking.
Wing stay breaking - dodgy connector working loose - that type of thing.
Personally, it would be my nether regions that would give up before the car would...

As a mechanic I have had the misfortune to work for both of the above companies. (IMHO) none of the above would be the prefered alternatives.
Consideration should also be given to the the facts. The AA is presently owned by an american company otherwise known as 'CENTRICA' who
also owns British Gas and is currently trying to diversify into telephonic comunications to rival BT. Further they are currently trying to dispose of
the 'AA' as a going concern, ( I wonder why. profitability perhaps? ). As for RAC, well the only thing that I can say is that it is being
run as a profit making organisation, I believe it is still British, but as with the AA the objective is to road side fix as cheaply as possible (the
less time the better) so recovery is probably the most likely. If recovery is required because of an accident then I believe that with both you are on
your own. If it is due to mechanical breakdown, then with a specialist car, like a locost, you would possibly be better off with a good list of
contact numbers in your mobile phone (possibly from this web site as there must be plenty of technical skills available here).
Beware of the Goldfish in the tulip mines. The ONLY defence against them is smoking peanut butter sandwiches.

I wouldn't worry too much. I would probably be 25 miles behind you!
If you can keep you head, whilst all others around you are losing theirs, you are not fully aware of the situation
