Radiator Temp Switch
I am in the throes of putting in the cooling system for the Locost but have just discovered that the radiator I bought has no temp switch that I can
see. I now need to know how I am going to wire in the electric cooling fan.
Anyone got any ideas/solutions?

mine's going in the pipe between the cylinder head and the radiator. the temperatur difference won't be that big.
bought a threaded boss from rakeway.com (.co.uk?) for only about £4. best phone them to order, emails take a few days... if he remembers 
i'm still waiting for a quote for a pipe to be made with the bosses welded in, he said he'd email me a quote one day last week.
but phone up, and it's posted right away if you know someone who can weld it for you

I bought the thermostatic in line one from CBS that comes with all the wiring and relay, you can set your own on point.
It fits in the top hose, simple, quick to fit and does the job well.

Interesting. whoever built my car put it in the bottom hose. It's got a little screw adjuster on it and I change the tem setting depending on
time of year. In the winter I have the fan coming on later than in the summer when the ambient temp's higher.

ooh, get that moved to the top hose! should be acting on engine temp. the temerature of the top hose will give you that. bottom hose will be affected
by how cold it its outside, how fast you're moving etc, and won't give you a real engine temp.
on a very cold -5 day, on the motorway your engine might be ready to melt, but your fan sensor might think its only about 60 degrees
