Basic Engine and Carb questions

I am feeling my way through setting up my 8v Vauxhall Engine with 919 Fireblade Carbs, but I am very new to this so please be patient with me!

The timing on the engine is done.
Main jets have been drilled to 1.6mm.
Middle air jets beneath the trumpet holders has been blocked
Carbs are roughly balanced when on idle. (definitly needs balancing properly)

But....

When applying some throttle, the carbs are spurting out excess fuel through the trumpets, and also, when taking it for a little drive, it is very low on power....

I am sure the basic error is obvious to those that know...what am I doing wrong?

Help!

Cheers as always!

If you want to set the carbs up yourself you really need a wideband lambda sensor and gauge in order to see what is happening to the mixture, or if you can get it on a rolling road.

I haven't any experience with bike carbs on a car but have read a fair bit , it seems that a bike fuel pump might be needed if you don't already have one . Car pumps can cause the carbs to flood apparently .
