Zetec-s zetec-e

Does anyone know if there are any differences between the zetec-s (1.6) and zetec-e (1.8 and2.0) engines. I know the capacity is different but I am finding no one on the net does spares i.e. sump gaskets etc Cheers in advance

According to the Burton power catalog the Zetec S (1.25/1.4/1.6/1.7) is of no mechanical resemblance to the Zetec E (1.8/2.0). There was also a 1.6 Zetec E engine put in very late escorts and orions.

The 1.25 1.4 1.6 1.7 are zetec SE as fitted to focus and mk6 fiesta. The 1.6 zetec fitted to later escorts and orions is the zetec S which looks very similar to the 2.0 E. I'm starting to confuse myself now

Yep, you got it, except the Zetec S was fitted to Mk4/5 fiesta aswell (1.25). The 1.8 Zetec in the Fiesta RS1800 was a Zetec E. The Zetec E is a strengthened version of the CVH, thats why a CVH engined Sierra is probably the best doner.
