1.6 Zetec and Type 9 Gearbox
Knowing that this forum has such a diverse and extensive knowledge I hope that someone might be able to answer a few questions on the above.
Firstly does a type 9 box fit to a 1.6 zetec engine and what belhousing , starter and clutch is needed.
Secondly, which 1.6 zetec delivers the most power.
Finally if not zetec which 1.6 engine could I install in my ind yto deliver the best performance with out turbo or supercharger etc.
I know the above seems strange given I have a 2.1 pinto on 45s but I'm considering racing in class C sports and saloons which is under 1600 cc
and was looking for the most cost effective and competitive solution.
Thanks in anticipation of any wisdom which can be offered.

As long as it's a Zetec and not a Sigma type 9 fits straight on
Depending on the regs what about a 1.6 Mazda 4ge
I eat to survive

1.6 sigma is best to how power and weight wise, but needs bellhousing adaptor, uses doner cars starter needs normnal cover plate and type 9 friction
