don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!

If you want your steering to remain steering, and constant, with both wheels pointing the way they should

Is that a welded track rod?
I thought welded steering components were an MOT fail?

Ok cool thanks all, reason for asking was that the steering arms don't rotate and neither TRE came with a locknut so I wondered if it
wouldn't be able to unwind. Now to find locknuts, IVA on Monday!
The rack was provided already modified by GBS so hopefully is ok!

Why do people not reduce the size of their pics before posting ???
I'm addicted to brake fluid, but I can stop anytime.

What are you viewing on? Only half a screen on a 22" monitor.

I have a 23" monitor and it takes nearly twice the width of my screen. Size is not important (they say!), the resolution settings determine how
much space a picture will take.

Most locosts have welded steering columns.

I thought that was the case too ... but from LR forums there are many with welded steering rods plus as ^^^ says, welded columns, indeed mine is one
of them - bear also in mind it is far easier to spot a welded track rod than a welded coloumn.
BTW - I had similar porblem to you in that my steering rods were too short and the usual slution is to make up extensions so no welding involved. You
need to be sure of the weld too, lemme find the welded track rod as I received my car.
If you are needing M14 half nuts, then I have some squirrelled away so pm me, pretty sure I can do them cheaper than rally design.
here it is:
