Kliktronic does seem to have enough power
I installed my Kliktronic unit about 2 months ago, and whilst playing with the paddles, it doesnt seem to have enough power to change the gears. Any
ideas? The only thing I can think is that the unit is not mounted exactly vertical, it is 90 degrees to the shift lever though.
Any ideas would be most useful :-)

Not having one this is just a guess, but are you trying this stationary and would it become easier to change when on the move?
Perhaps jack up the back wheels off the ground and try going through the gears.
Another thing is are you checking for any volts drop to the solenoids, do you have thick enough cable. I assume they needs lots of amps and is being
fed directly from battery.

I think after looking at a few on Youtube and the ones on the Kliktronic site, I think I need to attach it to the selector peg, ans its currently
attached pretty much to the spline, and I think it needs more leverage. Will try tomorrow and post my results :-)

Post some pics up when your done, be interested to see how you have done it.
Ive got a Pingel shifter, similar to the Klicktronic one.

If there is not enough power try to move the unit a but up or down.
You need to find the 'neutral' position of the actuator. From that 'neutral' point is moves about an inch up and down.
If it's not exactly in the right position it can be underpowered and missing shifts. Also make sure it is mounted (pivoting bracket) so it can
move without resistance. It also took me some time to get mine perfectly adjusted for smooth operation on my singleseater.

They need a lot of leverage to work properly, maybe your arm is too short?

The arm will be about 10cm long for most bike gearboxes - you want the kicktronic to bottom out before the gearbox does....

Yes I am sure this is the issue, I only have it connected to the small R1 lever, its only 1.5 inches long, and all the others I have seen have it
attached to the original gear shift lever.
The Kliktronic works fine, but I suspect the amount of leverage is the whole issue. I am tied with not much room with my vehicle and am getting the
arm modified to be a bit longer, but may in the end have to opt for a Cable operated Gear Change

I'd have thought the exact opposite; you want to push the gear lever all the way to the stop just as you would with your foot.

The klicktronic has a lot of mechanically coupled mass behind it, travelling at quite a speed, and the pulling/pushing power is at it's highest
right at the ends of it's travel (when you least want it) - the impact it puts on your selector shaft and lever splines is excessive in my
view...
You still want the full travel, but just don't let the klicktronic overextend the selector...

Might just opt for a manual cable now, seems that this could be a pain the arse to get right, so this maybe on here for sale soon :-)

Kliktronic now sorted, I just needed a foot lever, managed to get the right angle and it now actually selects gears :-)
