Raceline Sump on Blacktop

Morning All

I have bought a second hand Raceline sump for my Blacktop Zetec
It has come off a Silvertop ..

I have read on the Raceline website that i need additional parts to fit the sump to a Blacktop,
can any tell me if this sump already has the windage tray fitted, or is that just the baffle?

I know I need a sump gasket and will replace the oil pick up pipe seal, but is there anything else I need.

Cheers Gavin

You will want a silvertop windage tray four silver top mains bolts (the four with the studs to bolt the windage tray on ) and four 20mm spacers.

The bearing caps sit higher on the black top to clear the ladder.

You should have the pick up with the sump ?

I think you can go about this one of two ways. You can use the silvertop mains studs from 2 and 4 bearings to replace yours and mount the tray on the engine but you can also use four nuts and bolts to attach the windage tray to the baffle in the sump. Has the possible attraction of not disturbing major engine bolts and being very cheap. You can see the four mounting holes already punched in the baffle in your pictures.

Hi Dusty

does it bolt direct to the top off the baffle plate then,

or is it stood off on spacers, if so any idea how long the spacers need to be?

thanks Gavin

our raceline sump kit for the blacktop definately came with instructions to mount the windage tray to the baffler plate, if you give them a call all you will need to buy from them are the spacers so you know the distance from the crank is right.

ok.. that sounds good.

would rather bolt to the baffle plate than disturb the main caps.

thanks

It's a while ago but I think I just used an 8mm bolt with a nut between the windage tray and a nut below the baffle. Or maybe two nuts. It's an age thing.

thanks for all the replies...

to conclude this post

I sent the baffle plate and pick up pipe back to Raceline to be modded.

Recieved in back in the post today, the mod to the pick up pipe is a ding...

and they have done a nice job of fitting thhe windage tray...

Cheers Gavin
