duratec - can't say i'd want to fit this
DURATEC 2.3L 2.OL ENGINE BLOCK BREATHER BLANKING PLATE | eBay
He's offering it for wet or dry sump. I could see it being useful for a wet sump as something to cut through and to weld a take-off pipe for a
external catch tank, but just blanking it on a wet sump could lead to leaks.
in a true locost fasion, i intend to either drill mine through to remove the valve, or remove the take-off pipe (seems narrow) and epoxy a wider one
in place.
i love epoxy.

You would only use the blank if you were fitting a dry sump, as you say remove the PCV valve from the original plastic cover by removing the ball
bearing and spring inside the orange bit and replace. Then connect to a catch tank.

It's also worth knowing that you need a catch-tank at least 1L per engine litre. I was pulled by scrutineers once because my 1L tank had filled
- a pinto at full chat hill-climbing does tend to throw it out. Interestingly lots of water in the catch tank.
I increased it to 2L and no issue.

It's worth replying as well that I didn't mind the pull - I was leaving the odd drip on the track, and that's not what you want if
you're on the ragged edge. I emptied the tank and made my next run - fairly fair treatment. Next event, they checked that i'd upgraded to
a 2L tank and all was rosy.

I've got a 1Ltr catch but as mine will be a roadgoing car think it will be ok.
Keep posting up your rebuild progress reading with interest.

Thanks Kev
I have a blog for it as well (FuryRebuild.co.uk), but I'm not posting much there yet. A friend and I are shooting lots of video and he's
editing it, so I will be posting the video aspects to that.
When I get lots of good answers to a topic from the forum, I pull them into a cohesive post and plonk it there. I also refer back to the thread here
that the info came from - it's right to reference it.
The plan to make the blog work and to ensure I give back to the community here is to create a rebuild thread, and start cross-posting from the blog.
I've also created a facebook group (furyRebuild, no less) and the wordpress blog is capable of cross-posting to that. It means people can follow
it on FB (I have a few petrol head friends there) without being directly friended to me.

Also, it's worth noting that the pinto breathes quite heavily whereas the Zetec and Duratec do not. I had a 1 ltr tank on my pinto and emptied
it out all the time (usually a 1/3rd full) but with the Duratec I never had to do anything. On the road a 1ltr tank will be fine.
