Fireblade Fuel Problem/Question

Decided to drive the kit car into work today (making the most of the sunny days).

I'm guessing it got warm sat in the sun this afternoon and the fuel evaporated from the hose between the fuel pump (hose is about 5 inches long) and the carbs and when I went to start it at 5 o'clock the pump wouldn't prime the carbs (just kept clicking).

Therefore I removed the hose from the fuel pump outlet turned the ignition on and the pump started to pump fuel out, turned the ignition off and re connected the hose and the pumped primed the carbs up within seconds.

I also have the same problem when replacing the inline fuel filter and have to do the same proceedure before I can get the pump to prime the carbs.

Questions
1. Is this normal?
2. How can I stop this happening again?
3. If I can't stop this happening is there a valve I could fit between the pump and the carbs?

Cheers,
Iain

Mine will sit for days and weeks without a problem

At the end of the day at start up, the carbs should still be full of fuel and not need any more "priming".
Are you sure you dont need just a tiny bit of choke, just til it fires?
