Quite possibly the yummiest engine I have ever seen.

Sorry if this is a repost

Radical Powertech Hayabusa heads 3.0L v8 -

A super lightweight v8 that makes 350 HP NA and revs to 11,000rpm.
Quote "The gearbox weighs in at only 36.3kgs, and with the engine weighing only 92.6kgs, the V8 engine and transmission will be one of the lightest commercially available."

I'll take one thank you!

The perfect beast was in the avatar Now it's just a beast!

There is a test in Evo magazine this month of a Caterham with a V8 made from two bike engines by Moto power. 2 litre, 74kg, 340bhp and 190lbft.

The car won't be sold as an official Caterham model, but they are giving their blessing and supplying appropriately modified chassis apparently. Total cost about £40k.

Edited for obvious reasons!

Sweet engine - just out of curiosity how much do you figure an engine like that costs?

A similar engine using 2 R1 engines cost around £15,000. I'd imagine you'd need to spend a few more grand on the quaife gearbox to go with it.

The one mentioned in the Evo article used in the Caterham "looks like being £15k but if present business developments go teh right way , it could be around £10k".

Here is a link to the avatar It's also in my photo archive /Avatar subfolder.

What a great ass huh?! Unfortunately it's not anyone I know.

I didn't realize it would cause so much excitement! LOL

I also neglected to watch this thread and then I forgot that I posted it...

Someone thought it slightly offensive for office browsing and so I replaced it shortly after putting it up....
