Zetec 1.8 flywheel.
Soon, I'll be turning my attention to the engine on my Dax Rush build.
The standard 2.0l flywheel is a bit of a monster and I can either buy a lightened steel one (lots of readies) or in locost style people recommend
fitting the 1.8 l zetec flywheel.
However, which one?
Is this the right one? ebay item 280878742314
There seem to be a confusing array of zetec 1.8 flywheels, some say they are dual mass others don't mention it.
If anyone knows the full story on zetec flywheels it will be very handy.
I am going to have a short at shortening the sump myself having looked at some links to very helpful zetec links.
Thanks in advance
Brian

Not sure if the Zetec ever had a dual mass flywheel, if they have I've never seen one?

You see this is what confuses me.
DUAL MASS FLYWHEEL & CLUTCH FORD MONDEO ZETEC 1.8i 2000-2007 MK3 | eBay
This one says dual mass flywheel. Apparently a flywheel from a 1.8 zetec is lighter than a 2.0 l. But are there different ones? If there are I will
get the wrong one.
I bought 2 Polo radiators before getting the right one.

It's not a dual mass flywheel on a focus mk1
I would get a focus clutch not a mondeo dual mass one.

280878742314 looks like the right one, proper zetec blacktop one.
Dual mass is duratec engine. 1.4 and 1.6 zetec engines are sigma engines.

What is the weight of the 1.8 flywheel compared to the 2.0?

It is meant to be about 1.5 kg less. 8 kg instead of around 9.5kg.

I just had clutch done on 53 Focus 1.8 Zetec. Garage said nobody knows whether dual mass or not until gearbox off. Happily, it turned out not to be
dual mass.
I'm addicted to brake fluid, but I can stop anytime.
