1.8 CVH Clutch Friction Plate Wanted
I popped the clutch plate out while I had the engine out yesterday
It seems to have less than a mm on the grooves.
The CVH will only be in for 2k miles max though so don't know whether to change it, dont' really want to pay £60 for a new one.
If anyone has a spare one with more meat on it....
I'm also going to chop the sump, any tips for replacing the sump plug, I don't have a tap big enough for the current size?

Dont think i need mine, unless its a usefull part for a zetec>type9 mating?
No idea of the condition other than the donor ran fine from pompey to basingstoke when I picked it up.

Only if you choose to use the much lighter CVH flywheel. Most don't as a separate trigger wheel is needed as the CVH flywheel dooesn't
have one.

I think the general concencus is 1.8 zetec flywheel and clutch with a ct133 release bearing? I already have the bearing so i guess im going down that
route! Will check its condition if you like mikeb?

I do not want to upset the apple cart loggyboy, but the Zetec clutch friction plate will be
of no use if you are mating the Zetec to a type 9. The splined shaft is different.
I ended up using the zetec 1.8 flywheel and pressure plate withe a CVH 1.8 friction plate and the CT133 bearing.
Do not forget that you also require a spigot bearing to be fitted into the crankshaft for the gearbox input shaft support.

Len.

As your only looking at a couple of K miles, I would be inclined to stick the old one back in, takes a fair while to wear even 1 mm from a clutch
plate, (as long as your not into trafic light grand prix). Cheers Ray
To make a car go faster, just add lightness. Colin Chapman - OR - fit a bigger engine. Chippy

From what I've read the 1.8 zetec full clutch kit can be used, just needs to be from a car with an mtx75 box, besides I would expect to buy a
new one anyway, as i do plan on keeping my engine in for quite some time!
