Old project resurrected now need pin outs?

I have had a couple of 1.8 Zetecs in the garage for a while now waiting for me to get on with it.

One is a Silvertop came as a complete unknown, ex Escort, no ancillaries or wiring harness etc.

The second is a Blacktop from a Mondeo came with all bits and I took out the harness, ECU, key etc together with the steering column and what ever I thought was correct.

To make things harder for me I decided to try to get the Silvertop working first, so the inlet manifold came off the Blacktop, chopped it down had plate cut and eventually had a stab at an inlet plenum.

Skimmed a CVH flywheel to clean it up drilled out the bolt holes to 11mm, fitted a CVH crank pulley to the front of the engine and made a sensor mount. Today I got around to bolting things together, flywheel on Type 9 bell housing Sierra starter motor, stuck in some oil and got the pressure switch to open after a little while showing some oil pressure. It has a modified CVH oil pick-up and sump fitted.

Now the next bit, fitting the wiring harness from the Blacktop to the Silvertop. The ECU is an EEC-V module called NECK, I have the key and the sensor ring that goes around the barrel, but need to confirm the pin out and overall connections.

Most of the engine bay wiring is sorted as the connectors would only go on to the correct sensors. (Why two temp sensors on the thermostat housing?)
I have to extend the Idle control and TPS wiring to reach the units and extend the crankshaft 36 tooth sensor from the back to the front of the engine to fit a CVH pick-up.

I am left in the engine bay with one 5 way plug with two wires in it which I am unsure of with Purple and Purple with white stripe wires

I also have a separate module from under the dash that says 98 AG 15K600FB which says it is a control link and Alarm system module. I am not sure if this is connected to the PATS system or if I can leave the unit out.

Anyway a few hasty pictures:

My Haynes Mondeo manuals do not seem to cover the V reg car the gear came from as the two go from K to T and X to 03 so I guess it is a type of changeover car so searching the internet continues.

Black box with lots of wires is the alarm = In the bin, not needed.

5 pin mini timer housing, two purple wires = reverse switch plug.

Two temp sensors in stat = Top one for ecu + bottom one for dash.

Hope that helps

edit......

Neck is a 104 pin eec-v 98~2003 ecu, one of the last before the next gen black oak.
This is a black top ecu and you will need the black top sensors to run either engine.

If you do a list 1 to 104 with the wire colour and trace I will have a stab at whats what.

Or if your just wiring up the 42 pin engine loom plug ? same again.

You really want to get your self an obd2 port aswell.

cheers

Hi Big Wasa

There is an ODB2 port there to reconnect. I am using the sensors from the blacktop where I can, apart from the 36 tooth sensor, hope the CVH one will work.

I am trying to wire into the 42 pin plug.

So the bottom stat is not needed except for dash unit OK that is good

Thanks for the reverse switch plug should not need that for ECU?

Have ordered FORD TIS to try and get information there is one to download at http://www.cannell.co.uk/Ford_Workshop_Manuals/ but dammed if I can get it to work.

I will write down all the colours on the 42 pin plug, would you like me to pm you with them or post here?

Cheers

Adrian

Tps so you will need the black top Tb, you can use the silver top but it gives a flat spot.
Maf, the air temp is also in the maf on the black top

the rest should be fine, black or silver top

You are in luck. It compares very very well to the 2.0 mondeo of the same age and ive done a few of them.

There are some of the below that you wont need or want. There are some pins that I have no info on. They may or may not be conected all the way through. ie they may be dead links. If they do conect to the ecu I could look the ecu pin number up on autodata.

here you go, a couple of hours latter,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
