Exhaust bends?
I'm looking to build 2 (v8) fairly simple 4-2-1 exhausts for my rover V8..
Now plan was to use the cast 4-2 manifolds and construct 1 5/8" twin runners into a muff diver each side with 2.5" exits..
Looking at the price of individual bends and joiners ect the price of the muff divers is cheap!
So I'm looking at 6 90's, 2 2-1 joiners, 4 45's, 2 flexi joints, 2 end caps (seen some nice WRC branded ones) and some straight pipe
in 1 5/8 and some more in 2.5"
OMG this is going to cost a FORTUNE based on what I see for bits in the catalogues and on ebay! Every one wants like tenner for each bit so £200 for
bits (without the silencers) What I don't like is the £4 postage loaded onto each part....
Whats me best (cheapest) option??

It's not cheap, if you get the cheap mandral bends on Ebay then expect rubbish as well, I got some nothing like the picture all crimped and
dented so had to send back.
£200 sounds pretty good TBH, you could always ask Scootz as he had a V8 Fomular 27 he um... scrapped so may have just what you want for less.

I have a set of flanges for a Rover V8 bought for a project but never used. Yours for the price of postage and a battenberg.
I paid £6 each for 50mm stainless mandrel bends from my local fabrication company then had to pay an extra £6 to get them delivered.

Why 4-2-1 for a Rover V8 ? - loads of work for nothing as its not a flat plane crank
Better off with 4-1 and a balance pipe (or not)
Balance pipe not worth the effort in a lightweight - you will have all the torque you will ever want.
Andrew
ETA - Just seen you are using existing cast manifolds for the 4-2 so ignore me.

I got my stuff HERE
1.5" 90 degree was £3.50 ish and a 2" 90 degree was £6 ish.
I don't see 1.75" listed but it ma be worth a call.
Cheers

Looks cheap. I'm looking at £1000 for a flywheel alone.

Thanks for the heads up on the dairy pipes, thats everthing I need for about £50 in stainless rather than mild steel!
I think the people selling exhaust parts should be referred to the competition black shirts...
