Setting up GSXR1000 throttle bodies.

This may have been asked before but I couldn't find it searching so bear with me.

My new secondhand throttle bodies have arrived and they look fantastic, like new. Superbly engineered and wonderfully built Japanese product.

I just need a bit of advice in setting them up.

They have two injectors per inlet, which is kind of cool. Now if I get megasquirt or Canems ECU do I just wire two injectors from the one feed from the ECU or do they need to be controlled separately and will I need 8 outlets from the ecu?

I am assuming that you just wire two injectors from the one feed.

Has anyone got a link to a good thread(s) in setting up and mapping the gsxr1000 throttle bodies.

I have also bought zx6r throttle bodies, which haven't arrived yet, and will make a choice on which to use when I have both in front of me, then sell off the one I will not use.

Thanks in advance.

Ideally you need to wire them separately so that each of the eight injectors can fire individually. although a lot of aftermarket ECUs can't do this. You need to check how many injector drivers the ECU has.

I have twin injectors (on a K Series) running an Emerald - the first four injectors are wired to run individually (sequential), but the Emerald only has 6 injector drivers so the second set (which will come in at higher revs) will run in pairs (batch) ie 1&3 and 2&4.

Dave Walker's Haynes book on Fuel Injection is a good read!

Regards

Wyn

Wiring two injectors together may cause the spray duration needed to be to short
Double injectors tend to use the ones closes to the head at low revs then switch to the further away injectors at high revs
Rarely would you have both firing at the same time

The gsxr injectors are high resistance (high impedance) of around 14Ohm. Therefore you can wire together the inners of cyl 1,2,3 and 4 in parallel and drive them together from a single MS driver. You can control the outers in the same way.

If you have more than 2 injector drivers then you can wire 1 with 4, 2 with 3. etc. this will reduce the current draw on the drivers and allow you to do cleverer timing with the injected fuel, but it isn't really necessary.

MS can control inners and outers separately which has power and idling benefits.

If you only drive one of the two injectors then I doubt you will get enough fuel in when at full power.
