Zetec Type 9 Release bearing
what release bearing do i need to use on my car which has a 1.8 blacktop zetec engine and a type 9 gear box?

Depends on what clutch was used. But being a 1.8 most likely the 1.8 clutch was retained meaning a ct133 type release bearing (however thas with a 1.8
silver top clutch IIRC).
If you dont know the clutch, Post a pic up of the clutch and bearing as the ct133 is quite distinct.
If it is a ct133, there are other codes but if you google ct133 you should get some good info.
Price vary wildly, i seem them listed on ebay for £20, but I paid £5 for mine after careful and patient searching.

As above, except do a search for Sierra clutch release bearing and select one that covers the year 1992.
The CT133 number seems to be very rare these days.

I have the little spigot bearing and just ordered the sierra 1992 release bearing where does the spigot bearing sit? Is it the end of the crank? I
haven't actually looked yet as I have had the engine in for a while with gearbox just bolted on so I could make the engine mounts

I've got the following
1) 2.0 Blacktop zetec engine
2) Type 9 gearbox, Normal bellhousing, 30mm spacer fitted between the two.
3) Ford ECB 110 release bearing, same as CCT133
4) spigot bearing for end of crank (to hold the end of the gearbox input shaft)
5) Standard Blacktop 2.0 flywheel
6) Standard Blacktop 2.0 clutch

You only need the spacer if its a Type 9 V6 gearbox (or god forbid the useless diesel one). I use the spacer but mine is a V6.
If you use the spacer with a standard box the input shaft will not reach the spigot bearing (which it needs for support) and it will wreck the gearbox
and clutch.

Yes, it sits in the end of the crank. Careful how far you push it in though- I believe it should sit at the end of the chamfer rather than all the way
back. I accidentally knocked mine in too far and had to get it out using lots of grease, a hammer and an accurately turned piece of steel!
