CVH vs 4age
right, ok ive got a sierra at the moment and its got a 1.8 cvh with the type 9 box.
the thing is the engine i really want is the toyota 4age 1.6 16v. i can get a bellhousing to fit the engine to the type 9 or i can just get a t50 box,
the type that comes with the 4age rwd.
i dont know, any ideas anyone?????? stick with the 1.8 or go bellhousing or go t50.????

T50 seems to be the normal way.
The aussies on the TOL sister group use that combo a lot.
Lots of hp for not a lot of cc.

well is it good. i guess if its good enough for the lotus elise and the MGF then its good enough for most things, and theres a lot of tuning goodies
available.

the 1.8 CVH is a bit of a slug anyway

don't bother trying to fit a type 9 to the 4age it's a waste of time T50 is the way we do it here....also if u want a stronger gearbox try the Supra
gearbox...this is VERY tuff gearbox indeed.

yes i can get bellhousing from raw or fensport.£££££££££.
and yes i can just use the t50, (its from the corolla gt by the way) but the thing is ive got a type 9 in the sierra already so it would be a shame to
waste it and not use it.
well if i was to get a t50, is anyone interested in buying a type 9 box?

Your 216 GTi will have a Honda engine in it not a K Series (the one that runs in the wrong direction). The 1600 K Series was only introduced in 96 in
the Mark 2 type Rover 216/416

If i were you, id look at it a different way.
Use your type 9 box. You would then have the great experience of having to get a flywheel and starter motor that mesh, and either buy or make your own
bellhousing. Then there is getting a clutch cobbled up to fit. You will have a lot of variables to deal with.
However, this way, and a lot of hassle, uses your type 9 box.
OR you look around for a T50, and bolt it right up.
hmmm
not sure which one id go for
