1600 x flow to Type 9, clutch cable etc

Hi all,

Can anyone help.
I have a 1600 x flow and a type 9 box, do I use a clutch cable for mk2 escort ( original donor) or cable for a sierra?

Also is there anything I need to know regarding fitting the gearbox, ie, do I use the flywheel, clutch and starter from the escort or is there more to it?
Searches on the Internet gives conflicting info.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,
I used a Cortina cable when I fitted a type 9. It is longer than the Escort cable.

I used an early 1600 Sierra clutch with I think a mk2 Escort cable which is adjustable . The Sierra cable uses an awful auto adjuster which isn't really suitable or for that matter reliable. Burtons list cables and the length, it may be worth checking your local motor factors as well
