Zetec 1.25 water pump etc.
Sounds as if the water-pump on son's 1.25 Fiesta Zetec engine is FUBAR - not suprising as its done a fair few miles
As well as replacing the pump, aux. belt and thermostat whilst it's stripped is it worth slapping on a new tensioner pulley?
Thanks, Pewe10
VV Ta, Loggy and Jenko, will have a look.
Locost triumphs again - searched the interweb for ages and there you are a couple of mins after posting.

Without a doubt. Its usually the tensioners that cause belt failures.

I found a gates's kit on ebay for my puma engine (currently being installed in a J15), it included the water pump and cam belt kit and was a
VERY reasonable price...maybe worth a look.

Just a quick update post new water-pump. The old plastic impeller had broken up and lunched itself on the shaft. Fortunately no major damage.
Loggy ^^ dead right new idler pulley a must - the old one sounded dog rough when spun.
Not too tricky a job but like lots of moderns (well relatively modern) access the main problem and requires a fair few parts stripped to gain
access.
Replaced the thermostat whilst we were at it.
Cheers, Pewe10
PS would rather have been Autosoloing!

make sure you got that crank pully tight, have a habit of winding back and killing the engine!
