Piper cross filter breaking down
Hi all
Earlier this year I brought two piper cross filters(c602d) and fitted them to two pinto engines one on bike carbs one on ITBs. Bothe were treated with
the piper cross dirt retention additiv (c9000mx)
Now only 6 months in both filter are flaking apart are breaking down from the outside. The insides are fine so I do t think it's fule standoff
inside them.
Has any one had this problem ? Or have I used the incorrect cleaning kit ?
Any help would be great
Ryan

Got the filters from burton so they should be legitimate
The filter cleaning kit was from a registeted eBay seller ....... Would some one really go to the effort to make fake pipercross cleaning kits worth
£10 ? Spose it a posability.
Was wondering if I was using ther right cleaner are there different pipercross cleaning kits. Iv git a new filter but don't want to use the same
cleaner and scrap another £60 worth of filter.

I bought one 2nd hand off someone on here a few years ago, wasnt particularly cheap either. Never fitted it, but all the foam has disintegrated and
fallen apart. Glued edges come unstuck, the lot. Not impressed with the quality if they do that when not used

don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!

Both are mounted inside the bonnet with a good gap away from the inside of the bonnet so there definatly not rubbing there more than a bit flakey the
one has almost lost its hole top later of foam have any of you guys git the number of the dirt retention additive off the can yiu used so I could
check it again what I have ?. I spoke to burton and they said if I post the filters back they would send them to pipercross for analysing ...
