Renault Megane Cabriolet
are they a bit gay?!
i've always thought of rag tops as being hair dressers cars...........until now.
had to pick one up from auctions today to take back to work for sale.......i'm in love with it!
it's gonna cost silly amounts no doubt cos it's on a 52 plate so possibly out of my price range. but what are ppls opinions on them?
anyone got any experience with them? i only got to drive it a couple of hundred yards on to the back of me truck but it felt really nice, half leather
etc. insurance is really good for me too with it only being a 1.6 and only around IG 7-8 it's just over 500 quid to insure. (paying best part of
a grand on my escort atm)
can't believe i'm having such thoughts overa french car

Its better looking than the tin top but at 1.6 llitres its bound to be gutless.IMHO
The pugs are nicer looking .Besides if you have a seven why are you looking at these....???? better make an appointment and get you head straightened
out....get one of the boys to take you out in a bec! lol That will cure it.

megane vs seven..... ok so both not exactly practical but at least the megane has a roof, doors, windscreen and a heater for winter!
1.6 being gutless..... it's pretty lively in the megane, i'd never been a fan of renault engines at all but yeah it's not all that
bad and is only 5bhp less than my 1.8 escort.
and that pic is of the new shape megane the one i'm getting all silly about is a older shape one.

my wife has the 1.6 ass shaker.
115 hp from a 1.6 isnt exactly gutless!!!!
the 2.0 has nearly 140 hp.
but these are average runaround cars with 0-60 in 10 ish seconds. Like most stuff on the road.
the older cabrio one isnt too bad at all.

who needs grunt anyway, its all about how you drive. Im in a 1.1 ax nowadays, with anticipation at junctions and good lane management, and appropriate
use of speed, i get where im going much faster than others might in faster cars.

Older 306 Cabrio's are cheap these days and go well with with the 2.0 lump and 135bhp-ish. Very happy with mine even though the WLM call me a
hairdresser!
If you get a phase 1 it can be converted to phase 3 spec for about £500 and no one will know!

Had a drive in a 1.6 automatic megane cabrio - thought it was boring to be honest, nothing special about it other than lack of roof. Other versions
may be much better though.

or in fact most auto anything.
you need decent power to get results from an auto. most european cars dont have it.
my xjs v12 had an auto and it wrecked the car's performance
