Best carbs for a 4age 16v? 40's or 45's?

Hi Max. 40's are good for up to 160hp or so when fitted with 36mm chokes so unless your 4age is very highly tuned I would stick with those. Much
cheaper than 45's too.
The default response on LCB tends to be " put bike carbs on it". Do a search on the subject. Many people get good results with carbs
from a 600cc sportsbike with engines similar to yours.
What is the state of tune of your 4age?

I had 45's and swapped to CBR600 FX bike carbs.
My engine was from RAW with the TRACPAC bits fitted.
Both times I had it set up at Bogg Bros and both times i got 160bhp (also same results with 45 at Z-Cars)
IMHO they produced similar power BUT the bike carbs were soooo much smoother

Spyder..... Just alittle head work it had before my time. Dropping it into my project over the winter, didn't know wether to keep the 40's
it come with or something else.
Fastdan...... How much for the kit from you for the zx7r?
