Running issues...

Well managed to get out for an hour today -. I have noticed a couple of things I need to address now that I have covered 100 miles.... Weather is not that cold but struggling to get above 65 -70 degrees... Only have the small micra ally rad so need to think about restricting cooling... Problem is left idIng the temp soon goes up at which point I need the fan to draw for cooling... Next thing to look at s to understand if I am loosing a bit of fuel pressure... Target iOS 3 bar but I have a pressure transducer reading about 2.8 but this drops to about 2.65 - 2.7 whilst driving... Nit sure if this is normal....

You need to fit a thermostat in the cooling system, also if you have a thermostat you need a by--pass connection.

Sounds like you might have a cool running thermostat or worse no thermostat?

Fuel pressure could just be dropping slightly because while your driving it's using more!

I do have a thermostat but possibly the bypass is a bit big..... I will have another check.... Idling the temp gets to 85 no problem and the fan cuts in.... What sort of temp should I be aiming for?

I will have a check....

Thanks guys....

The size of by-pass won't effect that.

Normal thermostat starts to open temperature would typically be 88c. Fan cut in temperature should be about 96c and cut off temperature about 93c.
