ERA chuffing sump
Well - I bought the ERA sump second hand off here, possibly 2 or 3 years ago, and only just got round to fitting it to the silvertop
"zeticky"
You'd think it would be a drama free excersize - and it should have been had it not been for the fact somehow along the way I ended up with the
wrong pickup pipe, which simply wouldn't fit/line up (most odd)
Luckily I had a "spare" full sized pickup from a silvertop (and a cronky TIG welder)
I managed to coax just enough life out of the TIG to make a cut n shut pickup that fits and doesn't leak
Buggered if I can find a lump of plasticine to check the clearence so made some "feelers" out of some strips of solder- seems OK but will
double check with plasticine before zipping it all up and putting it back in the car
Need to build a baffle plate - and seen a few designs on here by searching
Open to more pictures /descriptions /rough dimensions of the baffle
Going to try and keep the oil cooler and remote massive filter to keep the oil volume up (and temps reasonable)
Chippys winged sump he made for me has gone off to its new home - and will hopefully live on in a locost
Pics will possibly appear here shortly of the days events :-)
Regards
Rob
