Gear remote advice
Dear collective brain,
Thinking of fitting a rally design turret remote to the T9
Simple so far,
I also have a quaife quick shift lever I would like to fit .
I guess the two will fit together??
Also, I'm looking at fitting a new Havy Duty Gearstick sadle to firm up the change.
Now here is the thing............
Will I need one on the original gear stick position and on the remote?
Thanks in advance Chaps.

I would suggest yes
If the saddle is standard either end the feel will be standard
However the standard saddle is pretty good and I would question the need for the upgraded saddle

I'm using the same setup as you - T9, gearlever extension, and Quaife lever. If you compare the underside of the Quaife lever against the
standard Ford item, you'll notice they are the same shape; both are designed to take the cr@ppy plastic saddle. However, the gear lever
extension linkage is designed with the end that attached to the gearbox to be a direct fit, so you'll only want one saddle back under the gear
lever itself. Stupidly, I bought two new saddles before I checked this (being the impetuous person I am). I'd recommend getting the uprated
metal unit over the plastic version though - think Burton Power keep them on the shelf, amongst other places.
Artificial intelligence is no match for natural stupidity!
