zetec megajolt map
Hi all. I have a blacktop zetec running on 40mm r1 carbs with tps. I run it exclusively on tesco 99 but I only have it on the map that came with the
mj. Can anybody supply me with a decent Map for this setup please

Have you done anything else to the engine. I have a standard Black Top running Megajolt and Edis unit on R1 carbs. I had to remove the tps because of
problems mounting throttle linkage and use the MAP sensor. On the dyno mine made 165bhp@6500. Has yours been on the dyno and what makes you think you
need a better/differant map. I run on Super unleaded.

I've had the crank and flywheel lightened and balanced. No I haven't had it on a dyno as yet. And it bogs down on partial throttle in
certain areas. I was just after somebody else's map to see if it is a mapping or fuelling issue

95 or super you need to run around 28deg at 100% load all the way from 4500 rpm to redline and about 17 deg buy 3000 rpm and an extra 10deg on low
loads and blend all other cells.
idle range 10-12 deg
every engine setup will be diffrent so you cant just use someone elses b ut this should save you plenty of dyno time

Mine is fitted with 180 mains. You might not know but Weber jets (Pinto/x flow ) will screw straight in. It will save buying drills and your local
dealer may let you try different sizes. My air correction jets were blocked off with 2 pack and redrilled to .075mm........................

I bought mine already done so I'm not sure what you mean by air correction jets. I haven't looked into the carbs too much but I'll
have a look and see what size mine are. What exactly do they do? Are all jets for webers the same or is there a particular carb they're from? (
I'm not overly clued up on carbs as I'm only young) also if been thinking about upping the compression. Will I need to adjust the map to
suit and ifso what do I need to do?

It is obvious that you don't, at this stage get too involved in taking the carbs apart until you have been shown what to do otherwise it will be
expensive. The air correction are quite small and could be difficult to remove with out correct tools. They provide the correct balance between the
fuel and air going into the engine. Look at a Weber specialists web site and check the main jets for 32/36 dgv, these are the same as the R1. One of
the worst things you can do when engine tuning is to do too many things at the same time, ie, having the head skimmed and doing carbs at same time.
Get head skimmed first, then set the carbs and ignition up. However, some people just bung the a/c jets up and live with it, but not something that I
do. Your rolling road man should have a plentiful supply of jets.....

if you've not upped the compression ratio yet why do you think you need the higher octane fuel ?
