swirl pot hose routing
Putting together a typical fuel setup with high and low pressure pumps and swirlpot. My question is: Can I run a single low pressure line to the
swirlpot with no return to tank? Obviously feeding the high pressure return back to the swirlpot.
Just one less hose to run through the tunnel that way.

As I understand, no. A return from the swirl pot to tank is needed as the lifter pump will shift more fuel than the high pressure pump.

No, because the tank return is also the air bleed for the swirl pot. Without it the pot fills with petrol and air. Better to have it full of petrol
only.

The return line is essential but it can be much smaller bore than flow pipe.
The return pipe should be the top of the swirl pot.
The swirl pot can be at the rear of the car.
A return line from the injector rail regulator on the HP side of the system is a different issue.

Good points - makes sense. But surely a carbed car with low pressure fuel pump would suffer from the same problems with no return
|

The float chamber on a carb is open to the atmosphere so entrained air gets vented out, also a carb doesn't require continuous flow.
