Catalyctic converter for IVA
Looking for a cat to get me through IVA.
I found this http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/261236368306?nav=WATCHING_ACTIVE
I figured 400cell was better as it should give me a bit more room for error over a race cat. I have a 3" exhaust I presume just cutting an inch
off the end if the cat to make the entrance and exit 3" will be fine.
Does the cat have to be 'e marked' for IVA? Has anyone used one of these from eBay, did it perform ok? Looking specifically at these as
most of the 400cpi ones have sharp edges which I'd imagine are not IVA friendly for a seven.

I have a 2009 Megabusa with a CAT, how it affects the emissions is a bit of a mystery to me as it has no O2 (Lambda) sensor feedback to the ECU. I
have been told you tune the ECU or whatever (in my case the Power Commander) to give the correct CAT temp at tick over and 50% revs (or whatever the
IVA dictates). If it fails you need to tweek the mixture with a pc.

This is what I used to get my BMW 2.8 straight 6 powered Viento through that part of its IVA test:
2.50” 63mm Centre 200 Cell Universal High Flow Sports Catalytic Converter
And on the car (I did have it polished but it changed colour after it got hot)
Description
I spoke to the supplier and they said that their 200 Cell ones worked as well as other 400 cell ones as they had more catalyst in them per unit
surface area (which is why they cost more). I was a little sceptical but gave it a go. There was no e-mark on it and the tester didn't mention
it.
Test results were as follows:
Fast Idle CO = 0.04% (needed to be <0.2%); HC 25ppm (200ppm); Lambda 1.013 (target 0.97 to 1.03)
Idle CO = 0.1% (target <0.3%);
So easily within limits.
They do 3" ones for the same price.
