2.0 silvertop zetec advise
Hi all I am wondering what advise you can give me, I have a 2.0 silvertop zetec, I have ported and polished head and kent 1802 cams, I wish to keep it
on the standard ford injection but wondering what upgrades I can do, ie fuel pump, what maf to use, which inlet manifold exhaust manifold, throttle
body etc, any advise would be a great help and my apologies in advance if this is in the wrong section.

The main upgrade will be RE map to account for a higher lift and longer duration camshaft. But this may be limited on the standard ecu. To be honest,
with that spec of an engine, I would seriously consider throttle bodies and an aftermarket ecu.

Look throughout the site and you will see that I champion the cause of the standard oem ecu more than any one but. ..
If you have gone to the expense of cams and gas flow work then you must have a 200bhp goal ?
The standard ecu isn't going to get you there. Or is it a financial stepping stone ?
The ecu will respond well to breathing mods but not the cams. So if you give the ecu the correct sensor inputs it will handle a nice exhaust and even
throttle bodies.
By the time your at this stage you may as well go aftermarket with the ecu.
Maf, tps, ect will need to match the needs of the ecu. As long as the fuel pump can supply the needs of the engine then that's all it needs.

Hi thanks for the responses, It's not about goals or financial reason it's just being restricted by the class I'm entering hence
wanting to retain standard injection whilst squeezing out every last bit

A series that allows major engine mods but not to ECU? Seems odd.

It would be a question of looking very closely at the Rules to see what you are allowed to do. Microsquirt inside a EEC V box? Standard fuel pumps and
injectors etc are likely to be up to the job and replacing them may not gain you anything and could introduce issues.
I Have done work for restricted formulas before. Some competitors will spend huge amounts of money running dyno tests on all sorts of configurations
look for an edge.

Major engine mods aren't allowed, but not checked either, but if I had throttle bodies on it you can't hide them hence wanting to make the
best of a standard ford injection system

Hmm so cams aren't exactly in the spirit of it either then
Ok so you want the HO RS1800 inlet and throttle body. Port and knife edge the tb.
As you will be using silvertop sensors get your self an Owls ecu and have a butchers at my wiring guide.
