Clutch Slip
Okay.. got some clutch slip .. can smell it.
However only seems a problem when 2 up in the car and giving it some beans ..
 
Description
Got an 1800 Mondeo flywheel & standard clutch - Ebay - so no surprise..
Will take out the engine when sorn for winter..
Any recommendations for a pressure plate to handle 168 ft lbs of torque?

What make clutch was it
A standard clutch should cope when you consider it pulled a mondeo that could pull a caravan !!
I did transmissions for years and you can kill any clutch if your brutal enough
Launching and riding it with super sticky tyres will rip it to bits - even ones costing £$££££
A common mod is to have the flywheel drilled to take a pinto sierra clutch
Its a slightly heavier diaphram and slightly bigger diameter
Tbh a decent quality mondeo clutch should cope with a 600kg car
I bought a motorquip one for less than £30 - off ebay - and its fine

Before putting the new clutch in, is it worth checking the adjustment? Perhaps you're riding the clutch without realising because the adjustment
is too tight?

These guys built me a friction plate to my size and spec for £25. Obviously, for a full competition plate it would cost more but give them a call and
mention PPC Mag and me!

It was a cheap Ebay job.. I thought it would be okay .. but apparently crap ..lol
Suppose a pukka genuine clutch would have done better..
Ahh well .. always the way with a Locost lol

Yep - When I was researching a cost-effective way of transmitting turbo levels of torque this method seemed to come up regularly, and supposedly
provides a stronger clutch than standard Zetec parts.
That's what I went with. I bought a pre-drilled Mondeo flywheel from Retro Ford (
http://www.retro-ford.co.uk/shop/content/zetec-rwd-flywheel-z015 and
bought the Pinto clutch from them too and it breaks traction before the clutch slips.

Just been looking around the - 'How Much Power Can A Pinto Clutch Take'
looks like £200 worth of bits and wiz the engine out 
Ahh well .. seems like a well trodden path ..
Should see the year out on this unit.. I hope lol..
