"upgrading" 919 to 929

I'm just after a bit of advice as to whats needed with swapping a cbr919 engine to a 929 in my mk. I've had a quick search but not found much

what extra things would I need to buy/do along with get the engine?

if theres not too much involved I can get the engine fairly cheaply

The engine is not a direct swap, you will need to change mounts, exhaust and as it is injected so full loom, ecu TB's. I believe it has security on the clocks so keys as well.

Unless your 919 is bad this is probably not worth the effort as any gains will be negligible before you worry about baffled sump, it's also not a very common engine so if it self destructs you may struggle.

Better IMO to look at something a lot more modern and powerful to justify the chop and change.

Like Mark said really the cost of changing to a 929 or 954 from the 919 outweighs the very small gains - you have to change so much you might as well go for a later CBR1000rr which will give far better return on investment

I see, just what i wanted/didnt want to hear really

My current engine is goosed so I'm on the look out for a replacement and found the 929 cheap, it doesnt sound like its worth going for though with so much to change.

thanks

I know of a full 06 zx10 package with airbox, loom, clocks, tb's, shortened baffled sump.mapped ecu etc. Basically a full running package but exhaust is for mid engined setup so may be no use. Under £2k

Get another 919 n get the turbo package from ab performance

That is My plan rather than getting an r1 or something next.

3bhp more ...... Ermmmm seems a lot of work.

Don't forget you need to alter the engine mounts too. so there isn't a way you can just drop the new engine in...
