Jaguar V6 engine mount
Hi Guys, i realize that there is anothe thread running on engine weight etc for this engine but didnt want to cloud that process. please have a look
at my proposed engine mount below, any feedback appreciated. 3mm box section, resting on both lower cahssis rails to spread load, top has 5mm steel
spacer disc to give desired ground clearance and strengthen top of mounting. it will be spot welded to box. not pretty but functional i believe.

Don't see a problem, I think it's pretty neat.
The mounts look expensive, may I ask why you didn't use the Jag hydraulic mounts?

Hi 40 Inches, the engine came with the Jag mounts but one was contaminated with oil so didnt want to use it. A friend had these Vibratech mounts left
over from a previous project, sold them to me at half price, too good to miss out on.

Are you using the S-Type sump? The X-Type fits, and is much better, make sure you get the pick up tube too.
I get most of my parts from Autoreserve at Ilkeston, very helpful, phone them and ask for Andy, you may get a better deal than on eBay

Bit of luck on my part as had already obtained a X type sump and pick up tube from the very same person and company. Highly recommend them for any
jaguar bits. he says that the engines are just going to get cheaper as breaking many more S Types but no one needs an engine apart from the few of us
in the kitcar world.
Are you using standard injection and ecu?

Those mounts look fine mate, a bit simpler than mine (using Landy mounts as the jag ones were shot):
Though as for the X-type sump, I've found that there are no holes for the lower bellhousing bolts- I'm looking at drilling the flange to
accommodate a pair of nuts and bolts.
Don't suppose anyone wants to buy an engineless S-type?

There is enough meat to tap the two lower bolt holes, but I've found it difficult to drill it square. I figure a clearance hole and a couple of
long bolts is the easiest and accomplishes the same thing 
Just out of interest, how are you mounting your gearbox? Are you using the original cradle or making up a mount?

Made up a mount using some 5mm steel plate and a couple of rubber bobbin mounts. Will attach a photo when i can get in the garage this weekend.
Couldnt easily make the Jag cradle fit.
