MG TF K Series turbo swap
Folks
At some point the ZT K series turbo engine will be going into my TF.
Now, I haven't looked yet but apparently there ain't much space in front of the engine so turbo will need to go at the nearside of block
above gearbox.
Do you think normal 14/16 gauge stainless will be ok or should I use sch 40 as much thicker/stronger so able to carry the weight without bending !
Cheers peeps, look forward to comments, other suggestions etc@

There isn't much room above the gear box either, what with the air filter, water pipes, ECU and the fuel tank.

There's quite a bit of heat in the engine bay on one of these before adding a Turbo, Just wandering how you plan on keeping it as cool as
possible ?
The standard set-up uses a fan just for helping keep the engine bay cool, Will you rely on that with other mods ?

Keeping engine bay temps down will involve exhaust and turbo wrapping along with ducting I think.
Took the engine cover off earlier and found some pics on web of engine in tf subframe - doesn't look too insurmountable
I'll get new engine home and start measuring. Might need a new manifold but keeping turbo in roughly same place should work out.
Cheers
