PINTO VALVE CLEARANCE
Sod the haynes manual
whats everyone else setting there gaps at inlet and outlet,also a lesson in how to complete this project without too much spanner throwing ?

technical data books say 8 thou and 10 thou respectively but try 8 thou for both inlet and exhaust, 0.2mm in new money

When the valve is completely shut and the cam lobe is facing upwards slide the feeler blade under the cam from the valve side and adjust the ball pin
till it nips but doesn't grip. You'll need two open ended spanners, one to hold it while you lock it off. It's easier to do it
before you fit the carb.

i meant cold as in switched off anyway dont laugh i've heard of it been tried!!!!.....

i know that's the saddest bit .....there's always a few good funnies going around and most of which involve apprentices and
trainee's, some are mighty scarey and beyond belief

I have actually witnessed someone attemp to corect the clearances with the rngine running they bocked the spray bar so it wasnt so messy as well.
Dad still bought the car though
mk3 2000GXL cortina.
