Pinto cam cover gasket
Hello all,
I've just about finished rebuilding my pinto and have found the new cam cover gasket doesn't fit. The engine was taken from a 1978 Capri
and I know that early Pinto sumps differ from later Sierra ones, is it the same with cam covers?
I've tried 2 gaskets (one from a kent cam kit) and neither fit.
Cheers

The standard cam kit I bought years ago had 2 cover gasket sets in it. Only one fitted so the other was chucked. Bet it's the one you need.
yours, Pete
I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

If you have a look on Burton's web site (www.burtonpower.com), the part number for the early Pinto Cam cover is FT779 (up to 84) and later
version FT779A (After 84)

Probably worth getting hold of a later cover and also the small plates under the head of retaining bolts, later Pinto engines didn't suffer as
badly from cam cover oil leaks as early engines. May also be easier to get gaskets?. Rusty
