R1 bike carbs on a pinto engine problem

Hi guys

I bought an MK Indy that had been stood for a while, it had R1 carbs fitted but leaked due to damage to the casing on one of the carbs, it did run ok at the time.

I bought another set of R1 carbs exactly the same vintage etc, i put 160 jets in as suggested by Bogg bros and fitted them, i did take the bowls off and blow the jets out etc.

Turned the key today and the fuel pump clicking as before but kept clicking and filled the inlet manifold tubes with fuel!!, took them off and inspected them, nothing visable, refitted and same again.

Any ideas please, bike pump fitted, the old carbs when you turned the ignition on the pump clicked then stopped i assume when the bowl where full, this keeps clicking.

Thanks

Fuel pump pressure too high, 1-2 psi is safe for bike carbs , your needles are worn/dirty or your float height is too high
