Straight thermostat housing
I've finally settled on using Rover Thor inlet manifolds on the 944 v8 project.
What I need is a straight thermostat housing to take a standard 54 mm stat.
Does anyone know a production car with such a housing, i.e. The hose is at 90 degrees to the mounting face?
I know some peugeots and citroens have them in plastic but Id prefer alloy.
Cheers.
Pete.

Every engine manufacturer uses a different flangebolt pattern so it is unlikely (even if you could find one at a decent price) a say Hillman Hunter
one would fit.
Get a plain spigot fabricated and use an external stat -- but remenber an external stat needs a by-pass.flow to work.

Cheers BT, macining an adapter isn't a problem, I could spin a whole housing up but:
Alloy is getting expensive.
Im getting earache about turnings treading in the house.
Trying to save a bit of time...
The Thor V8 uses an external stat, but its really messy, I'll see if I can find a Hunter unit.

I couldn't remember what the standard outlet looked like and a Google took me to the megasquirt page - which lists a straight connector for the
Thor V8
Any use?
