cheap gauges on ebay - are they any good?
Anyone had any experience of the ebay sets of 52mm gauges (oil temp, press and water temp) , are they any good? £15 seems very cheap.
I'm also after a speedo and tacho for an 80mm hole in my dash. Again, I'm looking at a £70 gps one on ebay? anyone had any experience of
them? should I just save up for a racetech pair?
Thanks,

A guy here at work got a set to put in his Willys Jeep replica. He says they are 'OK' but not overly confident in the accuracy of them! He
is not that fussed about that as the look good to him though which is more what he is after.

I've used a budget oil pressure gauge off Ebay in the past, it was fine (and showed similar readings to my digital dash with solid-state
pressure sensors, so probably reasonably accurate). The pressure sensors are quite delicate though.

ok, cheers.
I'll get the 52mm gauges to fill the holes in my dash and have a think about the 80mm dials. To begin with I just want to get an MOT, I can
tweak it later I guess.

I have a feeling that a GPS based speedo is not road legal? From the IVA pages;
quote:
Speedometers that operate on GPS or bicycle or racing instruments are not allowed.
Although I know there is a difference between IVA and MOT...

my cheapo water temp gauge is just over 10% different to that reported by the ECU.

Speedometer is not a part of the MOT.
Phoned the local ramblers club today, but the bloke who answered just
went on and on.
