Which bike throttle bodies for an xe?

Hi guys,

What different types of bike throttle bodies have people heard of been used on an xe (Vauxhall 2L 16v Red Top)?

I know there's someone on here (Cidersurfer) using GSXR 750's, and I James thought Blackbird ones could be used. Does anyone know for sure if Blackbird ones are a good idea?

I could do with some recommendations? There's a big autojumble soon and I'd like to go and look for some.

I asked a guy at work (who's big into bikes) and he said Blackbird stuff would be much cheaper than GSXR stuff.

Cheers

Yeah,

Boggy set up my Webbers. I thought he was only into bike carbs?

Skippad, Boggy is a local legend. He a local rolling road / setting up carbs / old school kind of guy. He's at East Lutton near Malton. They've just started fitting bike carbs to car engines with alot of success.

Fast ford feb issu has done 4 page spread on these guys very good read, worth the£3.70 just for that..
They recomend any of the 1000 super bikes as donors as they have bodies of over 38mm with the Hayabusa toping out at a whopping 43mm.Look on Ebay a set of these will set you back £100-£175 carbs are less £20-£100.
The carbs on most sports 600's are about 36mm and are very cheap hmm just need some thing to run the ignition? any one have any ideas if quad 36mm carbs will be enough on a 1800 zetec?

Yep, I'm attempting to use GSXR 750 TBS. A quick tip though, Year 2001 up had injectors with higher flow rate of 270ccm @ 3 bar, I think Blackbird ones have similar (or more) output. Also, most bike TBs will have smaller centres (distance from body to body) than most car engine inlets so look for ones that are individual bodies that come apart so you can increase the spacing to match your manifold. Some come in pairs too.

As an indicator I paid £80 from a breakers for bodies, injectors, tps, linkage, short loom, MAP pipes and fuel rail delivered to my door.

Just for info

GSXR 600's are;
Inlet 41mm
Outlet 38mm
Equivalent to Jenvey tapered 48 (apparently)

GSXR 750's are;
Inlet 50mm
Outlet 42mm
Equivalent to Jenvey tapered 45 (apparently)

If you want to change injectors, Denso injectors off say, a Supra fit most of the bike bodies.

I've got 2001 ones, single bodies and the higher flow rate injectors. Not sure about others though, sorry!

Just found this on the Racecar forum:

<
You may want to wait a few months, some of the 2005 bikes are now going to be fitted with oval bodies which apparently (or so Kawasaki claim for their new 600), are 20% more efficient than a round body. Won't be long before a few of them are thrown down the road. Since the bodies won't fit anything else, they should be relatively cheap.
