Open to LSD Sierra Diff

I read somewhere on here that you can change the internals of the Sierra diff from open to LSD. Is this correct? If so, how complex is it?

I have an open diff with push in shafts, but the LSD is bolt on flanges. Are the internals compatible? Don't really want to change shafts etc if I can avoid it.

Cheers

Mike

I know you can change the internals of an LSD to get a different final drive gearing (handy for BECs).
As for making an open diff limited slip I did see a solution called the Phantom Grip *I think it was called* basically it was 2 plates pushed together by springs that would sit in the diff locking it until excess force was applied that would 'break' the diff to open. I don't think it would be as good a solution as a viscous (XR4x4) LSD diff.
I briefly looked into it, but they were looking for 2-300 quid IIRC - a similar price to an entire XR4x4 Sierra.....
If anyone comes up with a cheap solution (short of welding the diff up :-) ) I'd be all ears.
